Don’t write it off as just a beginner board though because both beginners and advanced riders all love the 8’ Cal Bear surfboard for the long smooth rides with minimal paddling effort that can be achieved with this popular board – even when the waves are small!  It has an EPS foam core with 3 laminated wood stringers for a structured yet flexible, lightweight core and an XPE/IXPE deck skin that helps you grip to the board without having to overload it with wax – because who would want to cover up that cool wooden graphic?! A traction pad comes already attached to the deck to provide extra footing help once you’re up on that wave and a PU surf leash is included so you don’t get separated from your board when the ride is over.
